Apple iOS 12.1.1 Beta 1 released

Just a couple of day after releasing iOS 12.1 to the public, Apple has released the first beta of iOS 12.1.1 to developers registered in the company's developer program. The update brings a few small features and improvements while eradicating some bugs.

One of the new features introduced in this update is FaceTime Live Photo capture, which lets you take a photo of what's on your screen during a FaceTime video call. In order to use this feature, both sides of the conversation must have it enabled (Settings > FaceTime > Live Photos) on iOS 12.1.1. FaceTime Live Photos capture was first introduced in an iOS 12.0 beta and later removed.

In this update, Apple has also improved the way the flip camera and mute buttons are displayed. In iOS 12, you would have to swipe in order to reveal these buttons. With this new design, the mute, flip and end-call buttons are displayed in a row along the bottom of the display.

While developers discovered the above-mentioned features in the release, Apple themselves have been very subtle on what the update offers. Check out the official changelog for iOS 12.1.1 below:

Developers registered in the Apple Developer Program, you download the update as an IPSW file on developer.apple.com or update their devices directly by heading to  Settings > General > Software Update if they have a configuration profile for iOS betas installed.

Alongside iOS 12.1.1 Beta 1, Apple has also released macOS 10.14.2 Beta 1 and tvOS 12.1.1 Beta 1 for developers.
