Huawei Mate 10 receives Android Pie update

Huawei's flagship from last year, the Mate 10 is now receiving the highly anticipated Android 9.0 Pie software update. That makes it the third Huawei smartphone to receive the latest version of Android, following the Huawei P20 Pro and the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

The Huawei Mate 10 devices in Europe are among the first to receive the Android Pie based EMUI 9 update.  Users will receive a notification when the update is available for their handsets, and it is recommended that your device is fully charged and that you are connected to a strong WiFi connection before initiating the download.

The update is reportedly around 4GB in size, so please make sure you have the free storage to download the update before you begin.

With EMUI 9.0 your device will be receiving an updated user interface, along with all the features and improvements you would expect from Android Pie, including a new gesture based navigation system. The UI will be significantly updated in terms of the aesthetics of the quick settings menu, but other aspects such as the status bar will remain unchanged.

The Huawei Mate 10 features a 5.9 inch LCD display, 64GB of internal storage with microSD, a 12 megapixel rear camera, an 8 megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner, a 4000 mAh battery and an octa-core Kirin 970 processor with 4GB of RAM.
