Huawei, the third largest phone maker, after Samsung and Apple, has newly announced the Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Huawei Mate 20 X during a media event in London. All three smartphones pack powerful hardware and unique features that set them apart from their competitors.

Design

The Mate 20 X is a larger variant of the regular Mate 20, built with the same metal glass construction and 'Hyper Optical Pattern' on the back to keep the device from slipping out of your hand and fingerprint free. The handset is available in Midnight Blue or Phantom Silver.

You have a 'dewdrop' notch on the top of the display housing the selfie camera. A fingerprint scanner can be found on the rear of the device under the square shaped triple camera and flash setup.

Huawei M-Pen

The Mate 10 X includes a stylus called the M-Pen, which can be used to activate the Memo directly from a locked screen, it has 4096 high level pressure sensitivity which should result in a natural feel when taking notes.

HARDWARE

Huawei Kirin 980
The Huawei Mate 20 X is powered by the company's own Kirin 980 chipset, build using the 7nm process and promising superior performance in the Android space. The handset packs 128GB of storage with optional storage expansion through nanoUSB and has 6GB of RAM.

The handset also packs Huawei's fastest cellular modem capable of Cat. 21 LTE download speeds of up to 1.4Gbps. The modem uses plenty of aggregation technologies, making it one of the fastest downloaders we've seen this year.

The Mate 20 X is powered by a 5000mAh battery and AI functionality built in to better manage how your apps use power. It also features Huawei SuperCharge which lets you quickly charge your device between sessions.

The device is also outfitted with GPU Turbo 2.0 technology, which combines hardware and software to get the best performance out of the device. You also get stereo speakers on both ends of the device, plus up to 40 db of high dynamic range.

The Mate 20 X features HUAWEI Supercool, which the company claims to be the world’s first liquid multi-dimensional cooling system with Vapour Chamber (VC) and Graphene Film used in smartphones.
