Apple watchOS 5 Developer Beta 9 released

Apple watchOS 5 Developer Beta 9 is now available for download. This release comes days after Apple pushed out the Developer Beta 8 of its wearable platform, which means the company is close to finalying watchOS for its release.

The latest version of watchOS will be compatible with Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 Apple Watch models. It wont however support the first-generation (Series 0) Apple Watch. With watchOS 5 Apple brings several new features and improvements to the platform, including a walkie-talkie feature with push-to-talk functionality.

Other new features include workout challenges, exercise tracking during yoga and hiking, the ability to listen to podcasts on your Apple Watch, and a function to set targets for your runs. The update also includes a new Siri watchface which allows Siri to learn your daily routines, follow your favorite sports teams, and open Maps when it is needed.

This developer release requires you to be signed up for an Apple Developer account. If you already have, you can download the new beta by opening the Apple Watch app on the iPhone and tapping on General > Software Update. Please make sure your Apple Watch is fully charged before attempting to update.
