Huawei P8 lite officially announced in the U.S.

The Huawei P8 lite was officially announced today for the US market by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, offering a premium design and powerful hardware, with an affordable price. The handset will be offered unlocked to US consumers, for just $249.99 USD,  allowing them to use the device in a network of their choice.

The Huawei P8 lite was first officially unveiled in April, alongside the Huawei P8 and the Huawei P8 Max. However the manufacturer chose to highlight on the other two devices at that time, and shared very little about the Huawei P8 lite.

Now the company is ready to share this new mid-range smartphone with the world. Its 7.62-millimeter thin frame, slim bezels and a unibody design with a metal-looking back make this handset extremely appealing for its price.

The Huawei P8 lite offers mid-range hardware, featuring a 5 inch 720p HD display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13MP rear camera with an F/2.2 lens, a 5MP front camera, 4G LTE (GSM) connectivity, a 2200mAh battery and a octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM.

The handset comes with Android 4.4 KitKat, coated with Huawei's EMUI skin. Its a little disappointing that Huawei was not able to back Lollipop into this handset, given that the new OS has been around for more than half a year.

If you are interested, you can purchase the device for $250 in black or white, directly from the Huawei website or through online retailers like Amazon.
