Motorola Moto G (2014) receives Android 5.0 Lollipop in Netherlands

Motorola Moto G (2014)The Motorola Moto G is now receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop software update in Netherlands. The update is being sent out OTA (over-the-air) and users will receive a notification when it is available for their handsets.

The update brings Android 5.0.2 along with the new Material Design to the phone along with lock screen notifications, the new "Recent Apps" menu and the 64-bit ART compiler which will make apps load faster.

Additionally the Quick Settings menu is now a two-finger slide down from the top of your screen, or a single finger slide from the notifications shade. Lollipop also includes Project Volta, which brings a new Battery Saver mode that will automatically lower the brightness of the screen, throttle your CPU, and limit background updates to help extending battery life.

Motorola recently unveiled the second generation Moto G with LTE, which offers a larger battery and comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed. Unfortunately its only available in Brazil for now, and its not known when the company plans to offer it globally.

If you live in the Netherlands, and have still to receive the update, keep in mind that such updates are usually rolled out in phases. You can also try manually checking for the update on your handset by heading to Settings >About Phone > Software Update.

Once you receive the OTA notification, make sure you device is connected to Wi-Fi and that you have your battery fully charged before downloading and installing the update.
