LG Optimus G Pro receives Android 5.0 Lollipop in South Korea

The LG Optimus G Pro, which was introduced two years ago is now being updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The update is currently being pushed out in South Korea, LG's home country, and will hopefully be pushed out to other parts of the world soon.

The update is currently being pushed out OTA (over-the-air) on all three LG-domestic service providers: SKT, KT and U+. Users on these networks can either wait for the OTA alert, or manually download and install the update.

With Lollipop, your aging Optimus G Pro will be treated to the latest Material Design visual tweaks, Project Volta battery enhancements, and the various performance improvements. With this release, the Optimus G Pro becomes the fourth LG handset to receive the Lollipop update, alongside the LG G3, LG G2 and its successor, the LG G Pro 2.

When the Optimus G Pro was first released, it came with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board. It was the last LG flagship to use the "Optimus" brand, and was also the first phablet to feature a 1080 x 1920 pixel display (which measures 5.5 inches). Other specs include a 13MP camera, 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 3140mAh battery and a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM.
