HTC One (M7) for Sprint receives Android 5.0 Lollipop

HTC One (M7)

HTC is working hard on bringing Android 5.0 Lollipop to all its recent devices, after admitting that it would miss the 90 day update window it previously promised. Next in line is the HTC One (M7) for Sprint which is now reportedly receiving the Lollipop update.

The update is being pushed OTA (over-the-air) and users should get an OTA notification when the update is available for installation. The update will be based on Android 5.0.1 like HTC's other recent updates. If you have not received the OTA notification, you can check for the update under Settings on your device.

How to manually install Android 5.0 Lollipop on your HTC One (M7) for Sprint

[UPDATE] Now HTC has made updating your HTC One (M7) for Sprint even easier by posting a full RUU that can flash Lollipop to your phone. While we recommend general users wait for the official OTA update, the adventurous and impatient among you can follow these steps to install the update.
  • Download the Lollipop RRU file for the HTC One (M7) on Sprint from HTC. The file is around 1.5GB in size.
  • Download and install the HTC Sync Manager. This includes all the drivers you need for your computer to recognize your HTC One.
  • Backup all your data as the following step will re-flash your device.
  • Simply launch the RRU file you downloaded in the previous step and follow the prompts to install Android 5.0 Lollipop on your HTC One.
Once your device reboots, you should be running Lollipop no your Sprint branded HTC One.
