The entry-level Samsung Z1 has been officially announced for the Indian market. The device runs Tizen OS and comes with an affordable INR 5,700 ($90) price.

The Samsung Z1 features a 4 inch display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded by an additional 64GB of microSD, a 3.1MP rear camera, a 0.3MP front camera, a 1500mAh battery and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 768MB of RAM.

On the software front you get Samsung’s own Tizen OS. The company promises that Tizen is very light and wouldn’t bog down the phone’s hardware, offering a seamless user experience. Tizen offers its own app store.

Samsung has even bundled the device with a free media and entertainment hub (dubbed “Joy Box”), which will allow Z1 users to stream and download movies, tv shows, and music.
