Microsoft Lumia 435 officially announced

Microsoft Lumia 435

Today, Microsoft launched its most-affordable smartphone to date – the Microsoft Lumia 435. The handset is priced at just EUR 69 (around $81) before taxes and subsidies and aims to convert a few former Nokia Asha users to Windows Phone.

The handset is clearly meant at those on a budget and not meant to wow anyone with its spec sheet. Its features include a 4 inch display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 2MP rear camera with fixed focus, a secondary camera for video calls, a 1560mAh battery and a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM.

The Lumia 435 runs Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim. This is the latest version of Windows Phone, which includes features like Live Folders and Cortana. Those who purchase the handset will gain 30GB of free OneDrive cloud storage, free global navigation with HERE Maps and more.

The phone will be available in black, white, green, and orange. It will arrive in select markets across Europe and Asia this February.
