HTC Internet for Android arrives on Google Play Store

When Google decided to make Chrome the primary browser on Android, many OEMs continued to build their own customized version of the AOSP browser for use on their devices. The HTC Internet browser is one such application, and it has now made its way into the Google Play Store.

Various HTC apps have been making their way to the Google Play store, along with apps from other manufacturers. By releasing their web browser on the Google Play Store, HTC will be able to release updates for it independently, without having to depend on OTA updates to fix bugs.

You can download the app directly on your HTC Android device through the Google Play Store or by using the following link:

The latest version of HTC Internet for Android has the following new features and improvements.
  • Text reflow: Depending on zoom levels, text will be wrapped to fit the width of the screen for easy browsing.
  • Read later: Save an article to read later, even when connection is off.
  • Redesigned interface that’s clean and easy to read.
The HTC Internet Browser works on HTC devices running Sense ROMs based on KitKat or higher. That means it will not work on HTC's Google Play Edition devices.
