Razer Forge TV Android gaming console announced

While the Xbox and PlayStation maybe considered the primary gaming consoles in today's market, Android manufacturers are slowly starting to create a console market for casual gamers. The Razer Forge TV is a new gaming console, which allows gamers to play both Android and PC games.

The Razer Forge TV is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with 2GB of RAM. The four Krait 450 cores are accompanied by the familiar Adreno 420 GPU which runs at 600MHz. You also get 16GB of internal storage, which should be amble for most modern titles. Android 5.0 Lollipop running things with Google Cast support included.

Razer's proprietary Razer Cortex streaming is also featured on the console, allowing gamers to mirror PC games straight to the console. It is said that it paves the way for low latency during the resource-hungry streaming process, which will probably stand high in most gamers' books. Razer Cortex will allow you to stream any PC game, provided that the latter relies on DirectX 9 or higher.

Apart from games, the Forge TV also allows you to cast and stream music, videos, and even Android apps straight on your TV. Android TV is also a part of the specs sheet. Its biggest highlight, however, is its ability to stream whatever PC game you might throw at it.

The Razer Forge TV will be available for purchase in Q1 of 2015, with the basic version costing $99.99, while the controller-enabled one will be priced at $149.99.
