HTC One M8 Developer Edition receives Android 5.0 Lollipop

The HTC One M8 Developer Edition is now receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop software update. The Developer Edition of the HTC One M8, which costs $699 in the U.S. features an unlocked SIM and bootloader.

With the unlocked Bootloader, you can root your device and install custom ROMs. However users are advised to return to stock before installing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

HTC has stated that their current flagship will be updated to Android 5.0 within one to two weeks. Now that the Developer Edition is receiving the OTA update to Lollipop, it should be just a matter of time before the update rolls out to handsets on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.
