Alcatel OneTouch Watch officially announced

Alcatel OneTouch Watch

Alcatel is having its own booth at CES 2015, and one of the items it has on show is the affordable Alcatel OneTouch Watch – the company’s first smartwatch.

According to the marketing image, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch comes in a completely round stylish design and will be available with four different straps. Alcatel says its aim was for a traditional look and feel, while the software inside the classy looking shell is packed with many watchfaces and “apps that allow users to monitor daily activity”.

The Alcatel OneTouch Watch is water resistant (IP67) and has Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. It is also outfitted with a 210mAh battery, which Alcatel promises will last 5 days and will charge in less than an hour. When it comes to charging, the wrist strap can be plugged directly into your computer’s USB port, eliminating the need of cables or docks.

Alcatel’s smartwatch will offer all the features we are familiar with on other wearables, including remote music playback control, photo taking, notification checking, etc. These functions are managed by Alcatel’s own operating system.

Alcatel will also provide its OneTouch Watch with companion apps for Android (Android 4.3 or higher) and iOS (iOS 7 or higher) allowing users with either platform to own and enjoy their smartwatch.

The Alcatel OneTouch Watch features a 1.22 inch circular display and is powered by an ST Micro ST429. While no other specifications have been provided, we can safely assume the Watch will be capable of performing well on Alcatel’s own operating system.

Alcatel also promised a “smart price”, and hopes to deliver on that promise by pricing the Watch at just $149. The Alcatel OneTouch Watch will launch with availability direct from Alcatel. With an attractive design and functionality, the OneTouch Watch clearly has a lot of value to it.
