Alcatel introduces POP phones and tablet at CES

Alcatel POPAlcatel has announced a number of new devices at CES 2015, including the Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 and the Alcatel OneTouch Watch. However the company has also introduced several phones and a tablet under its POP brand.

The Alcatel POP 10 is a tablet which comes in a thin 7.9mm profile and weighs just 400 grams. The device features a 10 inch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera and 4G LTE connectivity with support for voice calls.

The device can convert into a laptop by easily snapping into the keyboard accessory, and there is a docking station that charges the slate.

Alcatel also introduced a trio of Android smartphones under the POP 2 brand name. All models feature 4G LTE Cat.4 connectivity along with Alcatel's Flip Cover and Color Cover accessories.

The Alcatel POP 2 5 features a 5 inch display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, a 2500mAh battery and a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. The POP 2 5 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

The Alcatel POP 2 4.5 features a 4.5 inch display with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution, a 5MP rear camera, a 0.3MP front camera, a 2000mAh battery and a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. The POP 2 4.5 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed.

The Alcatel POP 2 4 is actually available as both an Android and Windows Phone device. Both devices feature identical hardware including a 4 inch display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, a 5MP rear camera, a 0.3MP front camera, a 2000mAh battery and a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. The differentiator is that one runs Android 4.4 KitKat, while the other runs Windows Phone 8.1.
