Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ receive Android 9 Pie

After releasing several beta versions of Android 9 Pie, Samsung has started rolling out the official version of Android 9.0 to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ units.

Currently, the update is only being pushed out to users in Germany, bringing the G960FXXU2CRLI software version on the Galaxy S9 and G965FXXU2CRLI on the Galaxy S9+ devices. Based on the success of this rollout, we expect a worldwide release will begin in the coming weeks.

If you are a beta tester living in Germany, you will only have to download a small update, which weighs in around 158MB. These users can initiate the update on their handsets by clicking the Settings > Software update menu and selecting Download updates manually option.

While the update should reach all Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 users eventually, you could consider downloading the file from SamMobile and manually sideloading it on to your device.
