OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T receive Android 9.0 Pie software update

After releasing beta builds of Android Pie for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the company has started rolling out the final versions of Android 9.0 to the customers to celebrate the Christmas season. OnePlus announced the update's availability on their forums letting customers know that OxygenOS 9.0.0 with Android Pie was heading out today.

The official changelog for the Android Pie update follows:

System
  • Updated system to Android™ 9 Pie™
  • Brand new UI for Android Pie
  • Brand new navigation gestures (Available for OnePlus 5T only)
  • Updated Android security patch to 2018.12
  • Other new features and system improvements
New Gaming mode 3.0
  • Added text notification mode
  • Added notification for 3rd party calls
Do Not Disturb mode
  • New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings
Camera
  • Integrated Google Lens mode
The update is reportedly around 1.74GB in size for the OnePlus 5 and around 1.75GB on the OnePlus 5T. OnePlus will push the update out to a small number of users today and if successful proceed with a "broader rollout" within a couple of days.

OnePlus also notes that the team worked overtime on Christmas Eve to ensure that OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T owners got to ensure an Android Pie treat as their "Christmas Gift".
