Apple releases iOS 12.1 build 16B94 for iPhone XR

Apple releases iOS 12.1 build 16B94 for iPhone XR

Apple released iOS 12.1 last week for all compatible iOS devices, including the newly released Apple iPhone XR. However, it looks like the company has now released a slightly updated version of iOS 12.1 solely for the iPhone XR.

The new build carries the 16B94 build number compared to the 16B93 build number on the original iOS 12.1 release. What's interesting is that the update is only showing up for customers who haven't already updated to iOS 12.1, indicating that it likely wasn't meant to replace the original build.

If you are running an older version of iOS on your iPhone XR, you can now download the iOS 12.1 build 16B94 on your device by heading to Settings > General > Software Update. You can also manually download the IPSW file from Apple and install it using iTunes.

While Apple hasn't shared any specifics on the changelog for this build, you can expect all the improvements from iOS 12.1 including eSIM support, Group FaceTime and more.
