Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 receives Android 8.1 Oreo

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is now receiving the Android 8.1 Oreo software update. This could be the last major update for this tablet, which was first launched about a year ago.

Users in Italy are among the first to receive thee Oreo update, as it makes its way to devices across Europe. Currently it is the LTE version that's reportedly receiving the update, but the WiFi models should follow very soon. It also shouldn't be long before customers in the US will also get to savor the latest version of Android on their tablets.

According to reports, the update which brings the T395XXU3BRJ5 software version, includes the still un-announced November security patch for Android, along with all the features and improvements you would expect from Android Oreo, including an updated Samsung keyboard app, dual messenger, picture-in-picture view and more.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 features an 8 inch display, 16GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, an 8MP autofocus rear camera, a 5MP front camera, a 4450mAh battery and an octa-core Exynos processor with 3GB of RAM.
