Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus on T-Mobile receive RCS Universal Profile 1.0 support

After announcing the RCS Universal Profile 1.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in June, T-Mobile has announced two more handsets which will be receiving this update.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus on T-Mobile are the latest two smartphones to receive the Universal Profile 1.0 update which allows users to send files up to 100MB in size over text message.

The update brings several improvements and bug fixes to the two handsets and includes the October security patch for Android along with the RCS Universal Profile support. The new software is being pushed to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus OTA (over-the-air) and is reported to be around 400MB in size.

With a diverse lineup of smartphones, it's frustrating that the RCS Universal Profile support is rolling out so slowly... Hopefully, we won't have to wait another four months before more handsets are added to the list of supported devices.
