Motorola Moto G5S receives Android 8.1 Oreo update in the US

Back in September, Motorola started a global rollout of the Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Moto G5S Plus. A month later the update has reached Moto G55 Plus units in the United States.

According to the support documents released by Motorola, the update includes the August security patch for Android along with some “stability improvements” (usual bug fixes and performance improvements for your phone).

Since updates are usually rolled out in waves, it may take a couple of days before you receive a notification on your device. You can try manually checking for the update by heading to Settings > About phone > System updates.

The Motorola Moto G5S Plus features a 5.5 inch LCD display, 64GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, dual (13MP+13MP) rear cameras, an 8MP front camera, a fingerprint scanner, a 3000mAh battery and a Snapdragon 625 chipset with 4GB of RAM.
