MetroPCS is now Metro by T-Mobile

MetroPCS merged with T-Mobile a little over five years ago, and has since doubled its customer base. T-Mobile's CEO John Legere still believes that MetroPCS should be rebranded to represent his company's brand.

Moving forward, MetroPCS will be known as Metro by T-Mobile. This is meant to emphasize that the Metro customers have access to the "blazing fast" T-Mobile network. Metro will be introducing a new data plan that starts at $50 for one line, with four lines being offered for $140. This will include unlimited data and 5GB of tethered data for tablets or laptops and customers will get free Google One storage. Another plan that starts at $60 per month per line, and $150 for four lines will include a free Amazon Prime subscription, alongwith free Google One storage and an increased 15GB of tethered data limit.

These new plans will replace the $50 and $60 plans offered by MetroPCS and will be accompanied by some updates to the cheaper plans. The existing $40 plan will now offer 10GB of data instead of 5GB, and a new $30 plan with 2GB of high-speed data per line.

The new Metro by T-Mobile branding will go into effect starting October, and those looking to get in on these new plans can do so beginning next month. Current existing customers, will automatically receive these new perks without needing to make any changes.
