Motorola announces its Android Pie update plans

Motorola has announced which of its smartphones will be updated to Android 9 Pie. The manufacturer has stated that these devices will start receiving the update in the coming months, and expects the rollout to begin "this fall". Since these updates are carrier and country specific, expect the rollout times to differ for some.

Motorola has confirmed that the following devices in their portfolio will be updated to Android Pie:

• Moto Z3
• Moto Z3 Play
• Moto Z2 Force Edition
• Moto Z2 Play

• Moto X4
• Moto G6 Plus
• Moto G6
• Moto G6 Play

With Android Pie, these handsets will receive an updated gesture based navigation, an improved Do Not Disturb mode, a colorful settings menu, longer battery life, and revamped split-screen among other improvements.
