Apple releases iOS 12 Public Beta 7

Apple has released the seventh public beta of iOS 12, following the iOS 12 Developer Beta 9 release. In order to test out the public beta, you would have to register as a tester in the Apple Beta Software Program and install a profile on your device to download the relevant updates.

While beta builds of Apple's operating systems are not recommended for day to day use, anyone who has an extra iPhone or iPad around can easily install and test these releases. Those already participating in the public beta can install the update by heading to Settings > General > Software Update.

What's new in iOS 12

Apple's focus on with iOS 12 has been to improve the overall stability and performance of the platform, while adding a few new features to round it up. Users will be treated with an updated notification system with improved notification handling and muting. You will be able to group relevant notifications together to reduce clutter.

Another new feature comes in the form of digital wellbeing, with allows users to track how much time they spend on their devices and apps. The goal is to help users limit the time the spend on their phones, and a similar feature was implemented by Google for Android Pie.

Those not willing to risk their devices testing iOS 12 beta will soon be able to try the final build for themselves on compatible devices, when it arrives sometime in September.
