Microsoft Lumia Camera beta released for select Lumia smartphones

The LumiaBeta Apps team from Microsoft UserVoice have released a new beta version of the Lumia Camera app for select Lumia smartphones. The updated app offers access to advanced camera functionality and to the most recent features available on Lumia devices.

The beta version of Lumia Camera for Windows Phone is only available to those who own a Lumia 930, Lumia 1520, Lumia Icon, Lumia 640, and Lumia 640 XL. The app will offer new features, bug fixes and improvements to Lumia Camera, before the app is released commercially.

Microsoft Lumia Camera (beta) for Windows Phone, 2015-05-05 version 5.21.0.0 has the following new features and improvements:

• Access to Office Lens from settings menu
• Pro settings remembered after restarting the app
• General performance improvements and bug fixes

The beta version of Lumia Camera for Windows Phone can be used in parallel with the commercial version of the application. Users can set Lumia Camera Beta as their default camera, so that it starts up with the hardware shutter button.
