Samsung Galaxy S6 - Video Review

Samsung released not one, but two new Android flagships this year - the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Both handsets offer Quad HD displays, powerful octa-core processors and a brand new premium metal design.

The Android smartphone landscape is filled with great options, and Samsung found itself struggling to stay on top last year amidst its competitors offerings. This year Samsung hopes to regain its momentum with the introduction of the Galaxy S6. The company has taken an entirely new design approach for their new flagship with clear inspiration from the iPhone 6 visible when you handle the device.

The new flagship features the redesign to the series in recent memory, with the introduction of premium materials in its design - in comparison to the unflattering feel of plastic. The handset also packs the most powerful hardware with a quad-HD Super AMOLED display, 16MP camera and 64-bit based octa-core Exynos processor to ensure its future proof state.

Samsung has also paid special attention to its software approach by making its TouchWiz UI more fluid and modern. From the phone’s responsiveness with operations, to the quality produced by its camera, and the high qualities exhibited by its Super AMOLED display, its clear that Samsung has paid great attention to detail.

Despite the upgrades, the new design has resulted in the new device not offering some of its predecessor’s unique features - such as expandable storage via microSD card slot, user replaceable battery, and a water resistant construction.

At the end of the day, Samsung has focussed on what customers asked for, so it will be interesting to see how these changes affect the popularity of one of the top Android smartphones.
