Alcatel announces a PIXI 3 phablet and two PIXI 3 tablets

Alcatel has announced a new large screened smartphone (phablet) and two portable tablets in the PIXI 3 lineup. The new lineup offers 3G/4G connectivity options and is offered at affordable prices.

First we have the Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (5.5) phablet, which is available in a 3G and a 4G model. Both have 5.5 inch displays, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera and 1GB of RAM.

However the 3G model has a IPS screen with a 540 x 960 pixel resolution, a 2910 mAh battery and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor. Meanwhile the 4G LTE model has a TFT screen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, a smaller 2800mAh battery and a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor from Qualcomm.

The OneTouch PIXI 3 (5.5) aims to appeal to a youthful audience and will be sold in an array of colors, including Volcano Black, White, Amber Orange, Tango Red, Neon Pink, Laser Yellow, Vivid Green, Sharp Blue and Metallic Silver.

Next we have the Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (7) which is available in WiFi, 3G and 4G variants, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The tablet is available in Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G variants. All three models feature 7 inch displays, a 2MP rear camera, a secondary camera for video calls, a 2820 mAh battery, and 4GB of internals storage which can be expanded through microSD. 

However the 4G model is powered by a Snapdragon 210 quad-core CPU with 1GB of RAM, while the other two variants are powered by dual-core MediaTek MT8127 processors with only 512MB of RAM.

Finally we have the Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 3 (8) tablet which is available in 3G and WiFi variants, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The device features an 8 inch display with an 800 x 1280 pixel resolution, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 2MP rear camera, a secondary camera for video calls and a dual-core MediaTek MT8127 processor with 1GB of RAM.

Alcatel has still to reveal the pricing and release dates for the new lineup, but we expect it will be available with budget conscious users in mind.
