Sony Xperia E4

Today, Sony lifted the veil and showed us its first smartphone for 2015, the affordable entry-level Sony Xperia E4. It's predecessor, the Xperia E3, was introduced alongside the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact back in September last year.

The Xperia E4 features Sony's OmiBalance design language, which has clearly evolved with more rounded edges, curved lines, and thinner bezels than the Xperia E3. The handset still has a premium air to it with diamond-cut aluminum power button and a stainless steel camera ring.

In terms of hardware, the Xperia E4 features a 5 inch IPS LCD display with a 540 x 960 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, a 2300mAh battery and a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with 1GB of RAM. While there's no LTE connectivity, the handset is available in both single SIM and dual-SIM variants. on the software side you get Android 4.4.4 KitKat customized with Sony's UI.

Sony has not revealed the pricing of their new affordable handset, but claim that both the single-SIM and dual-SIM variants of the Xperia E4 will launch later this February.
