Samsung Galaxy S5 for Verizon receives Android 5.0 Lollipop

Samsung Galaxy S5Verizon Wireless seems to be the first US mobile carrier to push out Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy S5 on its network. The update its being pushed out to Verizon's Galaxy S5 users starting today, February 2, and brings the VRU1BNLC build number.

The update is comprised of two separate software packages, which will be downloaded OTA (over-the-air). The first update will prepare your Galaxy S5 for Lollipop, which will be downloaded as part of the second update.

Samsung has already started rolling out Lollipop for the Galaxy S5 in other parts of the world, and brings several new features and improvements, including Google's Material Design, enhanced notifications system, and more.

Samsung is also expected to push out the Lollipop update to U.S. variants of the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 in the near future.
