New Asus Fonepad 7 announced with Android 5.0 Lollipop

Asus has announced a new FonePad 7 (model number FE375CL), which runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. While the tablet itself looks identical to the former Asus FonePad (FE170CG) it also features updated hardware.

The new Asus FonePad 7 features a 7 inch display with an 800 x 1200 pixel resolution, up to 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, and a 1.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3530 processor with 2GB of RAM.

The Fonepad 7 FE375CL weighs 299 grams, measures 108.9 x 194.3 x 9.8 mm, and comes with a battery that can provide up to 12 hours of usage time. Besides Lollipop, you also get Asus apps and services, including 5GB of free cloud storage from Asus for life.

The Asus FonePad 7 will be first released in Taiwan, and will be priced at around $250. While Asus did not confirm international availability, its highly likely we will see the tablet in other regions around the world.
