Microsoft schedules press event on March 2, at MWC

Microsoft is sending out invitations to a press event which will take place on March 2nd at the MWC. While Microsoft is not expected to unveil its next flagship device until sometime in September, we expect the company will continue its trend of introducing more affordable Windows Phones to the market place.

Having already introduced the Lumia 535, Lumia 532 and the Lumia 435, there is a chance that Microsoft will introduce a Lumia in the 6xx range at the MWC event. The Nokia Lumia 1320 is also likely to be treated to a successor, as there have been rumors of the existence of another affordable large screen handset.

The RM-1072 is yet another device which may be unveiled at the MWC, a handset which is rumored to be a cheaper variant of the Lumia 830. While the Lumia 830 was pitched as an "affordable" flagship, its price was in now way a testament to that. The RM-1072 which is expected to cost $275 is said to feature a 5 inch 720p display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8.7MP PureView rear camera, a 0.9MP front camera, 2200mAh battery, dual-SIM support and a Snapdragon 400 CPU with 1GB of RAM.
