LG Watch Urbane officially announced with Android Wear

LG Watch Urbane

The LG G Watch Urbane is a new Android Wear smartwatch, with a circular display similar to the LG G Watch R. This time you get a 1.3 inch display encased in an all-metal body. It'll be available in gold and silver finishes, and comes with a 22mm natural leather strap. The watch uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and includes a heart rate sensor.

While the G Watch R was aimed at active users, the LG Watch Urbane sports a more formal design. This means a thinner profile, with narrower bezels, and some classic design flourishes.

Its body is made from stainless steel, with a choice of polished silver or gold finishes. The default strap, meanwhile, is leather, though this can be replaced with any standard 22mm band.

This is likely the most fashion focussed Android Wear device to-date, and sets itself to take on the Apple Watch, which is just around the corner.

Of course, this being a smartwatch, it does more than just tell the time. LG has included a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor, which measures the wearer's heart rate during exercise.

You also get the full benefits of the Android Wear platform, which brings the power of the Google Play Store, and Google Now notifications and alerts on your wrist.

While LG has yet to reveal, the pricing and availability details of the LG Watch Urbane, we should hear more at MWC 2015.
