LG G3 receives Android 5.0 LollipopThe LG G3 for Verizon is now receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The update bring Android 5.0.1 along with the VS98523A software version, and will include a Material Design inspired user interface, the new ART compiler making apps run faster, the revised "Recent apps" menu, improved battery life thanks to Project Volta, lock screen notifications and the two-finger slide-down Quick Settings.

Since such updates are usually rolled out in stages, it may be a few days before it is available for download. You can however manually check for the update by heading to Settings > General > Systems Updates on your handset.

The update is rather large in size, so users are advised to connect their devices to WiFi to save on their data allowance, and make sure their batteries are appropriately (at least 50%) charged before initiating the update.

The LG G3 is the company's current Android flagship. It features a 5.5 inch touch display with a 1440 by 2560 pixel resolution, 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 16 megapixel rear camera, a 2.1 megapixel front camera, and a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM.
