LG G Flex 2 launching in March, coming to Sprint in the US

LG G Flex 2 launching in March

The LG G Flex 2 has been released in its home country of South Korea, but has still to make its entry to the global market. Now Sprint has announced that it will be the first carrier in the US to offer LG's flexible flagship, starting March 13, with pre-orders starting tomorrow, February 20.

Sprint will allow customers to get the G Flex 2 for $0 down with "24 easy monthly payments of $21," or for around $500 off contract. As previously reported, Sprint will offer an exclusive "volcano red" version of the G Flex 2, in addition to a silver version (this will also be sold by AT&T and US Cellular).

The LG G Flex 2 may be smaller than its predecessor, the LG G Flex, but is more powerful. The handset features a 5.5 inch 1080p P-OLED display, 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13MP rear camera with laser auto focus, and a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM. The G Flex 2 is also LG's first handset to come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The curved, flexible body of the G Flex 2 has a self-healing back cover, weighs 152 grams, and measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 9.4 mm.

LG also hopes to make the device available in other Asian markets and Europe around the same time. In Singapore, the G Flex 2 will be up for pre-order on February 27 and it will hit retail on March 14 for a price of US $800 (SG$998, £480) unlocked. Over in the UK, the LG G Flex 2 will be a Vodafone exclusive for six weeks post-launch.
