[GUIDE] How to jailbreak iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 8.1

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2

If you own either an Apple iPhone 6 or Apple iPhone 6 Plus, you will be happy to know that a simpler more straightforward method of untethered jailbreaking Apple's newest handsets. In fact the updated jailbreak method will support any device running iOS 8.1.2 or lower.

Keep in mind that Apple has already released iOS 8.1.3 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. You will have to downgrade your device to iOS 8.1.2 if you want to use this method.

The following guide uses the TaiG team's one-click jailbreak app, which is only compatible with Windows for now.

The following jailbreak guide is compatible with the following iOS devices - iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini and iPod Touch 5th gen.

Prerequisites

  • Make sure your battery is fully charged before you begin the jailbreak process.
  • Backup your iOS device on iCloud or on your PC.
  • Users are recommended to switch their device to Airplane Mode during the jailbreak process
  • Ensure you have enough disk space on your device before jailbreaking. Some jailbreak files need to be installed and lack of space may cause the process to break.

Instructions

  1. Download and install the TaiG jailbreak tool for Windows
  2. Connect your iOS device to your computer through USB
  3. Run TaiG, and make sure that only the first option is selected on the start screen (check for Cydia, no check for the second option).

  4. Click on the big green button in the center of the app,

  5. TaiG will start the one-click jailbreak process. DO NOT DISCONNECT your iPhone, iPad or iPod while the process is still running
  6. After the process is done, your iOS device will reboot and you'll see the Cydia icon in your iOS home screen.
