BlackBerry 10.3.1 update halted after screen flickering issues on BlackBerry Passport

BlackBerry 10.3.1 update halted after BlackBerry Passport users face screen flickering issues

BlackBerry was in the process of rolling out the BlackBerry 10.3.1 update to all BlackBerry 10 handsets. However the company was forced to halt the update temporarily due to an issue with the BlackBerry Passport.

Apparently some of the current BlackBerry flagship users are experiencing an issue with flickering screens on their Passport after installing the latest version of the platform.

BlackBerry product manager Michael Clewley says that a fix for the issue is being tested and that the rollout of BlackBerry 10.3.1 has resumed.Clewley did mention in a tweet that BlackBerry is slowing down the speed of the update, and asked for patience from BlackBerry 10 users.

Besides the Passport, other phones being updated include the BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry Z3, BlackBerry Q10, BlackBerry Q5, Porsche Design P'9982 and the Porsche Design P'9983. The BlackBerry Classic comes with the new OS build pre-installed.

Aside from the flickering screen on the BlackBerry Passport, Clewley also mentioned something about the low volume of ringtones on the BlackBerry Q10. He suggested that those with the device select override profile volume and then increase the volume.
