ZTE Blade S6 officially announced with Lollipop and octa-core Snapdragon CPU

Not everyone can afford flagship smartphone prices, so its fortunate that Chinese manufacturers churn out classy looking devices which don’t dampen our wallets. We recently learned about the Meizu Blue Charm which costs only $112, now meet the ZTE Blade S6, a more powerful yet elegant looking device which comes at an affordable price.

The Blade S6 features a 5 inch laminated HD display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel wide-angle front camera, a 2400mAh battery and an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM. The device also has a fairly elegant design with 144 x 70.7 x 7.7mm measurements and Hi-fi sound with dedicated audio processor.

On the software side, you get Android 5.0 Lollipop, which ZTE has customized with its own UI. It has even added some enhancements such as Smart Sense – a clever set of gestures that can turn your flashlight on with a flick of the wrist, for example.

The ZTE Blade S6 will be available from AliExpress starting February 10th, with a more global rollout on February 27th, for the suggested retail price for the western market of $250 off-contract. ZTE promises it will be shipping it from UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Hong Kong.
