Microsoft has released a firmware update for the original Surface Pro, alongside updates for the Surface Pro 2 and the Surface Pro 3. The Surface Pro was originally launched on February 9, 2013 and is significant for featuring a kickstand and keyboard that transforms it into a laptop.

It features a 10.6 inch full HD display, up to 128GB of internal storage, an SD card reader, a full-USB 3.0 port, a rear camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor

The firmware update released on 1/15/2015 for the Microsoft Surface Pro has the following new features and improvements.
  • Surface Pro UEFI update (v1.7.50) further enhances the system security.
