The Asus CEO Jerry Shen, took to the stage at CES with some interesting announcements. One of the interesting products the company had to show was the camera-centric
Asus ZenFone Zoom.
The smartphone comes with a 13MP mobile camera, but its highlight is the fact that it features 3x of optical zoom. While this may not compare to a device like the
Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, Asus manages to achieve this by keeping their device fairly stealthy compared to the chunky frame of the Galaxy K Zoom. Asus has managed to keep their camera-centric smartphone fairly compact, measuring at 158.9 x 78.84 x 11.95 mm, and weighing 185 grams.
Besides the 3x optical zoom, the 13MP rear camera has a 10-element lens and f/2.7 to f/4.8 aperture, along with optical image stabilization. You even get laser auto-focus, similar to
LG G3, and a dual-color Realtone flash for a full point-and-shoot camera experience. Asus has also included some manual adjustments for the shutterbugs out there, like exposure and shutter speed.
The rest of the specs include a hearty 5.5 inch 1080p IPS-LCD display with 400 nits of peak brightness, a 5MP front camera for selfies, a 3000 mAh battery and a 64-bit quad-core Atom processor.
The Asus ZenFone Zoom can be yours for $399, which sounds like a decent asking price considering what you are getting in return. Any takers ?
