Motorola DROID Turbo receives OTA update with advanced calling 1.0 support and minor fixes

Motorola DROID Turbo

Verizon is currently rolling out an OTA (over-the-air) software update to the Motorola DROID Turbo which brings Advanced Calling 1.0 VoLTE implementation along with other minor fixes and improvements.

The update which has the 21.44.8 version number has the following official change-log.
  • Prepares your device for the new Advanced Calling 1.0 feature, which allows you to use Voice and Data simultaneously.
  • Email Attached moved to top for easy viewing
  • Device Stability Fixes/Security Updates

Its disappointing that Verizon hasn't gone into detail on what fixes the update actually brings for the device. Its also important to point out that the update prepares the DROID Turbo for Advanced Calling, which will likely be enabled on Verizon's side once all the handsets have received the update.

Meanwhile DROID Turbo users are likely waiting for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on their handsets. While Motorola may have already released the Lollipop update for the Verizon Moto X, the carrier has more control over the update cycle of the DROID series.
