The HD version of ‘Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’ is free for download on the Google Play Store for a limited time. You will need a Google account with a credit card attached to it in order to download the movie (even though it is free).

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is a 2001 film directed by Peter Jackson based on the first volume of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings (1954–1955). The Fellowship of the Ring is the first installment in the The Lord of the Rings film series, and was followed by The Two Towers (2002) and The Return of the King (2003).

According to reports there are also a few other movies available for free in a few countries, such as Sherlock Holmes in UK and Italy, Pacific Rim in Australia, Clash of the Titans in Germany, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation in Canada and The Polar Express in France.
