Apple iOS 8.2 beta 3 released to developers

Apple iOS 8.2 Beta 3Apple has released iOS 8.2 beta 3 on the iOS Dev Center. The new beta comes only a week after the company released iOS 8.2 beta 2 to developers.

Apple has released several updates to iOS 8.0, since it was released back in September alongside the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. Apple iOS 8.1 brought Apple Pay to the company's flagship devices, allowing seamless, contactless transactions. Now iOS 8.2 aims to add support for the Apple Watch and Apple Kit.

Apple Watch is the company's debut into the smartwatch business and was first unveiled back in September alongside the new iPhones. Since then Apple has been hard at work readying their wearable for primetime use.

Google has since partnering with several manufacturers to release Android Wear devices and has managed to tempt off several potential Apple Watch customers with devices like the Motorola Moto 360 and Sony SmartWatch 3.

Apple has alot of catching up to do, and the release of iOS 8.2 will help make that happen. With the release of iOS 8.2 and WatchKit, developers will be able to build great experiences that integrate traditional iOS and the Watch-based version of the platform.

This beta contains bug fixes, with no further details mentioned in the changelog, but if we stumble across anything as we're testing it out, we'll be sure to update this article accordingly. Meanwhile feel free to share your own experiences with the update in the comments section below.

As we mentioned before, the iOS 8.2 beta 3 update is available to developers signed up for Apple’s iOS Developer program, which costs $99 per year.If you're a developer, head over to the iOS Dev Center to download all the necessary bits to get started with the Apple Watch development.
