[Android app] Motorola Camera update (3.2) allows you to use volume rocker as shutter button

The Motorola Camera for Android app has been updated to version 3.2.14.4 which adds the ability to use the volume rocker as a shutter button. The Camera apps is one of the apps which Motorola has broken away as a separate app for its Android phones in order to push regular updates.

Its a little strange that Motorola would release this as a separate feature, especially since Google released this option as a standard feature with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean last summer. Additionally several of other manufacturers have added this to their own proprietary camera apps. So, it is odd that Motorola is just adding it now, because it seems as though it would have had to remove the feature from the stock app.

In any case, the feature is here, and Motorola has actually made it a bit better. Not only can you take a picture using the volume buttons on your handset itself, but you can even use the volume buttons on a connected headset to take a picture, which is pretty cool.

While having a hardware button to take pictures is beneficial, using the shutter button isn't as comfortable as having a dedicated camera shutter key. The dedicated key offers the option to half press for focus, which Windows Phone users find quite beneficial on their Lumias.
