Nokia Lumia 1020 stars in skydive stunt during Middle East launch

The highly anticipated Nokia Lumia 1020 was launched at the Gitex Shopper in Dubai from the Skype with a Spectacular Skydrive stunt. Representatives from Nokia, the press and a select number of imaging enthusiasts, skydived onto Palm Jumeirah with Nokia Lumia 1020 mounted on their headgear.

The handset will go on sale tomorrow, October 5 through Dubai’s Gitex Shopper.

The Lumia 1020 is a Windows Phone 8 device which features a 4.5 inch display with a 768 by 1280 pixel resolution, 32GB of internal storage, a 41 megapixel PureView camera with Optical image stabilization, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM.

Those who were following last year's Google I/O probably remember Google GLASS being demonstrated in a similar fashion.
