Motorola Moto X for AT&T receives software update, here's whats new

The Motorola Moto X for AT&T is finally receiving its first software update. The carrier confirmed that it now offers this fresh patch, which improves camera performance and enhanced touchless control.

The update was first offering to T-Mobile customers of the Moto X. After that it found its way to Sprint versions of the Motorola flagship. The update includes a few minor bug fixes for Moto Care and Motorola Assist Driving Detection, improved voice quality, enhanced touchless control accuracy and tons of camera improvements.

Specifically, the updated camera software should deliver better color accuracy, improved exposure for backlit/outdoor scenes, enhanced auto-white balance performance and reduced noise for low-light scenes. Additionally, the handset should now provide faster touch to focus time and faster switching between the rear and front-facing cameras. The updated software is also designed to speed up training for the Moto X's Touchless Control voice command feature, which ties in directly into the Google Now voice search technology.

If the update has yet to reach you yet, don’t worry – it’s coming. Sprint has confirmed the update will rollout in stages, so it may take a few days to reach everyone. If you have not received a notification about the update, you can try to pull it out manually by going from Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Download > Install.

If you have a Verizon-branded Moto X, though, you'll have to sit tight. It's not clear when the phone on Big Red will receive a similar software influx. Let's hope you don't have to wait too long.
