Razer Phone 2 receives Android 9 Pie update with 4K/60 fps video recording, adaptive battery and more

The Razer Phone 2 is now receiving the Android 9.0 Pie software update. Last week the company promised that they will begin rolling out the update by the end of the month, and it would appear they have managed to keep that promise.

The news was confirmed earlier today, by Razer's global marketing manager Khang Thai, who stated that his company has kicked off the global roll-out of Android 9 for the Razer Phone 2. The new version of Android brings several new features and improvements, but Razer has added a few improvements of their own.

Among the improvements, the Razer Phone 2 will gain the ability to capture 4K videos at 60fps. As part of Android Pie, users will gain an Adaptive Battery, Gesture Navigation, Digital Wellbeing support, Notification Management, and February security patch.

The Razer Phone 2 features a 5.7-inch display, 64GB of internal storage with microSD, dual (12MP+12MP) rear cameras, an 8MP front camera, a fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, a vapor cooling system, a 4000mAh battery and a Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB of RAM.
