HMD announces Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 1 Plus and Nokia 210

While the Nokia 9 PureView may have been the highlight of HMD's MWC 2019 event, the company also had three more Android handsets and a feature phone to offer its fanbase. Meet the Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 1 Plus and the Nokia 210.

Nokia 4.2

Nokia 4.2

The Nokia 4.2 offers HMD's signature premium design with glass panels on the front and the back of the device. You are presented with a 5.71-inch display with a 720x1520 pixel resolution and a teardrop-style notch on the top which houses the 8MP front camera.

On the back, you have a dual camera setup which consists of a 13MP sensor with an F2.2 aperture and a 2MP sensor for depth-detection to produce portrait photos. Below the camera, you will find a physical fingerprint scanner.

A highlight of this handset is a dedicated Google Assistant button, which HMD has developed in close cooperation with Google for its Nokia-branded phones. This button will have three functions based on the way you press it: Single press, double press, and long press with different Google Assistant functions. Additionally, you’ll be able to trigger Google Assistant without having to unlock your phone, making it even easier to access it.

On top of that Nokia has integrated power button with integrated LED light for notifications. This will allow you to see your notification light, whichever side your phone is facing.

The Nokia 4.2 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 439 chipset. This is one of the low-end processors from Qualcomm, and is suited for day to day tasks and not process intensive games or tasks. Purchasing the 16GB model will get you 2GB of RAM, while the 32GB variant of this handset comes with 3GB. You can always opt for more storage thanks to the microSD expansion.

The device is powered by the Android One program, which will ensure the latest Android updates will be delivered by HMD for the next two years.

HMD will price the 16GB variant of the Nokia 4.2 at $169, while the 32GB model will cost $199. You can purchase the handset in Black and Pink Sand.

Nokia 3.2

Nokia 3.2

The Nokia 3.2 offers a plastic design but comes with a large 6.26-inch display with a 720x1520 pixel resolution. A 5MP camera is once again housed in a teardrop-shaped notch on the top of the device.

You can select the Nokia 3.2 with 16GB of storage, which will come with 2GB of RAM, while a 32GB model will also be on sale with 3GB of RAM. Customers will have the option to expand their storage with microSD in either case. Whichever device you pick, you will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 chipset powering it.

On the rear, you have a single 13-megapixel camera with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the 32GB variant. Once again, you will find an LED notification integrated into the power button like on the Nokia 4.2.

HMD has interestingly outfitted the Nokia 3.2 with a generous 4000mAh battery, which should easily give you 2-days of battery life. This is a full 1000mAh higher than the Nokia 4.2 offers.

In terms of software, you once again have Android 9.0 Pie with the handset being part of Android One. This will guarantee 2 years of updates for your Nokia 3.2.

The Nokia 3.2 will cost you $139 for its 16GB variant, while the 32GB model will cost you $169.

Nokia 1 Plus

Nokia 1 Plus

The Nokia 1 Plus is the most affordable Android handset HMD had to display during its event. The handset features a 5.45-inch display, up to 16GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a quad-core MediaTek chipset with 1GB of RAM

The Nokia 1 Plus runs Android 9 (Go Edition). Android Go is a special version of Android made specifically for devices that have less than 1GB of RAM and offers streamlined versions of Google’s own apps and an overall smaller-sized operating system.

You don't have the fancy power button LED notification integration, or a fingerprint scanner this time around and that is well reflected in its affordable price. HDM is offering this handset at a starting price of only $99.

Nokia 210

Nokia 210

If a smartphone is not what you are looking for, you can take things another step lower with the Nokia 210. The device brings back the once popular keyboard with a battery which will easily last you over a week. You have a 2.4-inch display and a single rear camera. Budget-friendly features like an FM radio and flashlight are offered in this bundle.

The Nokia 210 will be offered in red, black and grey and will cost around $35.
