Oppo could introduce its 10x optical zoom camera on January 16

A couple of years ago, Oppo introduced us to the world's first dual camera with 5x zoom. Now the company has scheduled an event in China, on January 16th where it will unveil 10x lossless zoom solution.

The 5x lossless zoom technology utilizes dual cameras with wide-angle and telephoto lenses. The telephoto lens is housed using a periscope-style structure, which helps achieve a high zoom by shifting the angle of the lens by 90 degrees.

While Oppo's 5x zoom technology has yet to be commercialized, rumors suggest that the new 10x hybrid optical zoom technology will be debuted on the OPPO F19 and F19 Pro. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the new zoom technology, but it is expected to be similar in design to the 5x lossless zoom technology demonstrated by the company at MWC 2017.

In any case, we should learn more about the future of Oppo's newest camera technology on January 16.
