LG G7 ThinQ receives Android 9 Pie software update

Starting today, the LG G7 ThinQ will start receiving the Android 9.0 Pie software update. Customers who own the device should start receiving update notifications over the week as LG rolls it out across the globe.

LG first rolled out the Android Pie update to customers in South Korea, as part of a beta program. While the rest of the world had to wait patiently to savor the latest Android build, it looks like the wait won't be much longer.

With Android Pie, the LG G7 ThinQ will gain features like the adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, security enhancements, and various changes system-wide to UI elements. Customers will also be able to take advantage of improved ringtones, message apps being able to attach larger GIF files and further bug squashes and fixes.

LG has also officially unveiled according to MyLGPhones, that they are preparing the Android Pie software update for the LG G6 and the LG V40 ThinQ alongside the LG G7 update. LG should complete the Android Pie rollout for the LG G7 by Q2, 2019. LG is also reportedly testing the latest version of Android on the LG G8 which should come with Android Pie out of the box.
