Nokia 8 receives final Android 9.0 Pie software update

After pushing out a public beta of Android Pie to their Nokia 8 customers last week, HMD Global announced today that the stable build of Android 9.0 was now being rollout in phases to all users.

The Nokia 8 follows the Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 7.1 as the latest in HMD's stable of Nokia smartphones to receive the latest version of Android. By continuing this trend of stellar software support we only have the Nokia 8 Sirocco left to receive the latest version of Android.

The Nokia 8 is not an Android One product like some of its siblings, which would mean that it isn't restricted to giving customers the pure stock Android experience. But HMD Global is not known for tampering with the Android formula too much, so we should be seeing a fairly standard set of improvements to the device including the Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, intuitive navigation and various notification improvements along with security upgrades offered by Android Pie.
